What’s not to love about spring? With longer days and warmer weather, a glimpse of happiness is in sight.

As the season is associated with freshness, we often like to press the reset button on our homes and give it a much needed freshen up. Spring is the perfect time to get rid of unwanted items which are cluttering our houses and commit to a deep clean which has been avoided for months.

With a room as frequently used as the bathroom, this is not a space to be overlooked when completing your spring clean. And cleaning isn’t the only way you can change the appearance of your bathroom in time for spring. Altering the decor in line with the season creates a fresh and happy room to visit every day.

Keep reading for some of our top spring bathroom ideas, and a cleaning checklist to make sure your bathroom is spring-ready!

Spring Bathroom Decor

Changing the theme in your bathroom doesn’t have to require a full renovation. With the use of accessories you can give your space a revamp in time for the spring season.

If your bathroom is currently filled with warm colours and cosy decor off the back of the recent cold seasons, get rid!

Now we don’t mean throw them all in the bin, but store your current linens and accessories away to make room for some new decor more suited to the season. By the time next winter comes around you will already be well-equipped to change your bathroom theme.

Things to consider changing in your bathroom to give it a touch of spring:

How To Introduce Spring Colours And Patterns

Altering the colour scheme in your bathroom is one of the easiest ways to make a big change. And you don’t need to jump to painting the walls and worrying about re-tiling to do this. Small additions in your bathroom with a hint of colour can make all the difference.

1. Change Out Your Towels And Bath Mats

If your current towels and bath mats are a dark and cosy shade, swap these for bright shades to instantly add life. Vibrant tones of green and pink are perfect for the spring season. Reminding you of blossoming flowers and gorgeous greenery.

Not to worry if you prefer to stay away from colours. Vibrant white linens offer a fresh and clean vibe to perfectly compliment your springtime bathroom.

2. Add A Floral Shower Curtain

Nothing screams spring like a floral print. If you have a shower curtain, this can easily be swapped out to a radiant floral pattern and makes a brilliant focal point in your bathroom.

3. Embrace The Spring Theme With Tile Decals

Upgrade your existing tiles by changing their appearance to suit a spring theme. Tile decals are a great way to refresh your tiles with a new look, and they are reversible! Available in a number of patterns and colours, you can easily transform your tiles with the peel and stick installation.

Finalise Your Spring Decor With Accessories

Once your colour scheme is radiating spring vibes, complete your bathroom with some finishing touches.

1. Upgrade Your Bathroom Accessories

Our range of bathroom accessories are available in frosted and chrome finishes, which perfectly add a splash of brightness into your space for the season. From soap dish holders to robe hooks, we’ve got you covered for all the bathroom essentials.

2. Bring The Outdoors In With Plants

Add plants and flowers into your bathroom for the ultimate sense of spring.

Plants that thrive in humid environments, such as Orchids and Peace Lilies, are ideal for bathrooms. A perfect low-maintenance option if you tend to forget to water your plants! Check out our dedicated bathroom plant guide for more advice on keeping plants in your bathroom.

If you are cursed with a brown thumb, then artificial plants and flowers make just as good as an accessory in your spring bathroom.

3. Add Fresh Spring Scents

Kill two birds with one stone by finalising your spring décor with candles and reed diffusers. Scents with floral notes such as rose and jasmine will have your bathroom smelling fresh. Spring scented candles are often found in shades of yellow, green, and pink to compliment your seasonal aesthetic.

Bathroom Spring Cleaning

Dedicate some time to giving your bathroom a good clean in time for spring. Now we don’t just mean a weekly refresh. Really get into all of the nooks and crannies to leave your bathroom fresh and rid of any lingering dirt or mould.

Avoid cleaning products that are overly powerful as they actually end up doing more harm than good! Keep it simple with a multi-purpose bathroom cleaner, glass cleaner, toilet cleaner, and trusty soapy water.

If your bathroom requires a bit more attention, then dedicated mould and limescale removers are brilliant at giving your bathroom a deeper clean.

You don’t need fancy tools, just make sure you have a variety of cleaning cloths, sponges, and a toothbrush to get into any cracks or grout.

Having a dedicated basket/caddy which holds all of your cleaning supplies in one place will make life a lot easier when it’s time to tackle the spring clean.

Once fully equipped, you can turn to your bathroom cleaning checklist to start giving your bathroom a whole new life.

Bathroom Spring Cleaning Checklist:

  • Remove all accessories from your bathroom. Keep any clutter out of your way, and stick your towels and bath mats in the wash.
  • Remove any lingering dirt or dust from your surfaces. This is done best with a damp cloth. Don’t forget to wipe your bathroom light fixtures which often gather a lot of dust!
  • Spray your surfaces with bathroom cleaner to clean and sanitise them. Pay special attention to scrubbing the toilet bowl and sink.
  • For tough dirt and grime in your grout, grab your tooth brush and get scrubbing. (Just make sure it’s not the same one you brush your teeth with!)
  • Rinse your shower/bath and wipe down your sink and toilet.
  • Give your floors a sweep and then a hoover. Pay attention to your skirting boards and any gaps in tiles where dirt tends to build up.
  • Clean your mirrors, shower screen, shower walls, and fixtures.
  • Mop your floors with warm soapy water.
  • Finalise your sparkling bathroom with clean towels, an empty bin, and add your accessories back.

Now you are fully prepared to create a gorgeously fresh bathroom ready for the spring season. If your bathroom is in need of a bigger upgrade, see our latest bathroom offers for generous discounts.
