Introducing The Lima range – ‘Revival Of The Retro Bathroom’
When we say "retro" in terms of interiors we usually mean anything from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s but don’t worry if you’ve never had a beehive hairdo, listened to Blue Suede Shoes on the wireless or even played your favourite Beatles track on a record player as there’s so much to love about the retro era and coupled with a modern twist looks absolutely fabulous.
Retro to me doesn’t just mean flower power and fluorescent colours it can also be soothing pastel colours, simple furniture and geometric shapes.
If you love nothing more than indulging into some 1960’s classics such as spending time with he family on the beach building sandcastles, playing a game of twister or Cluedo with friends or watching James Bond or Bewitched on the TV then you’ll adore our new retro set “The Lima”.
How Do I Create The Retro Look In My Bathroom?
Why not give your bathroom a touch of retro TLC and choose your favourite pastel colour. We love the duck egg blue as not only is on-trend but it’s clean and classic and a perfect shade for any bathroom. It also really stands out and looks gorgeous too.
Opt for simple white furniture such as the Lima White Combi Vanity Unit so as not to detract from the pastel colours. The added benefit of the vanity unit is that you’ve now got extra storage for all your bottles and beauty products.
Coupled with white or off-white metro tiles against the pastel colours will instantly give your bathroom a vintage feel. There are so many gorgeous vintage towels with geometric prints that would complement this bathroom perfectly and give you the option to add your own personality into the room.
Box shelves not only look great and fit perfectly with the retro look we were going for but it also gives you the chance to display all your favourite trinkets or better still gives you space to buy some more…
The finishing touch is the LED Mirror, we chose the Blanc 590mm Round Illuminated LED Mirror with Demister Pad as it has a retro vibe especially when placed against the duck egg background don’t you think?
We’re always looking to incorporate something new with our room sets and much as we love the classic brick formation with our tiling we thought we’d give our talented set builder a new challenge to tile using the herringbone design and I love it, hasn’t he done a fantastic job.
Did you know that the Herringbone style of tiling has been around since ancient Roman times so if that isn’t retro then I don’t know what is!
I hope you’ve found this useful and give you the inspiration to try something new with your bathroom. Let us know how you’ve brought a touch of retro into your home and who knows we may be able to incorporate one of your ideas in our next room takeover.
